On March 4, 2026, the Thai Language Department, Faculty of Education, Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University, organized an internationalization project to develop the competencies of professional Thai language teachers. Professor Rachel Harrison, professor of Thai cultural studies from SOAS, University of London, United Kingdom, gave a lecture on the topic of "Thai Literary Criticism from a Cultural Studies Perspective" to second-year students in the course "Literature and Creative Criticism," as well as external participants who registered online.

This project is an important part of pushing forward the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), addressing Goal 4, Equitable Education, which aims to develop Thai language teachers' critical thinking skills and a broad, international perspective; Goal 11, Criticism of Thai Literature through a Cultural Studies Perspective, which helps create awareness, preserve, and further develop understanding of the roots of Thai language and culture to remain relevant in the present; and Goal 17, which aims to build and strengthen academic cooperation between the Faculty of Education and a leading global educational institution like SOAS, University of London, to exchange knowledge and jointly raise the standards of Thai education.
