
On November 30, 2015, the Faculty of Education, Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University, organized a training and special lecture on "The Importance of Developing Reading, Writing, and Analytical Thinking Skills for Primary School Students" at Ban Tum School, Ranong Province. The objective was to raise awareness and enhance understanding among teachers, administrators, and educational personnel about the crucial role of basic language skills and analytical thinking that directly impact the learning development of primary school students.
This event featured highly qualified lecturers from the Faculty of Education who shared their knowledge on the importance of reading and writing for developing deep learning, methods for motivating reading, developing systematic writing skills, and approaches to promoting "analytic thinking," a key competency for 21st-century learners.
Furthermore, a learning exchange between teachers from Ban Tum School, Ban Sai Mun Sai Thong School, and Ban Lao Udom Sap Somboon School, was held with faculty to develop lesson plans that align with the ability levels of local students. Small workshops provided opportunities for teachers to experiment with teaching techniques such as thought-provoking questions, visual aids, and group activities to effectively develop reading and writing skills.
This training represents another collaboration between the university and schools in Udon Thani Province to support sustainable educational quality development. It also aligns with the current situation. Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) Goal 4: Quality Education, which aims to ensure that all learners receive equitable and quality education through enhancing teacher capacity and classroom learning processes.
This training and special lecture marked an important step in preparing for the next phase of student development activities in the project and building a strong educational foundation for Ban Tum School, Ban Sai Mun Sai Thong School, and Ban Lao Udomsap Somboon School, as well as the local communities.
