The Thai Language Program, Faculty of Education, Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University, conducted an off-campus learning activity at Wat Arun (Temple of Dawn) and attended a Khon (masked dance-drama) performance of "Hanuman" at Sala Chalermkrung, aimed at enhancing students' understanding of Thai literature.

On October 8, 2026, Lecturer Benjaporn Praisorn from the Thai Language Program led third-year students from the Faculty of Education, Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University, on an educational field trip as part of the course "Literary Works of King Phra Phutthaloetla Naphalai" (THI2310). The visit included stops at Wat Arun Ratchawararam Ratchawaramahawihan and the Sala Chalermkrung Royal Theatre.

The objective of this field trip was to bridge classroom knowledge with real-world experience. By visiting Wat Arun—a significant royal temple deeply connected to King Phra Phutthaloetla Naphalai (Rama II)—students were able to study the art, architecture, decorative gable features (*panlom*), and invaluable sculptures dating back to the early Rattanakosin period.

Following this, the faculty members and students attended a Khon performance of "Hanuman" at Sala Chalermkrung. This high-art form of Thai classical dance-drama, based on the Ramakien (the Thai version of the Ramayana), allowed students to observe intricate dance movements, dramatic interpretation, traditional vocal performance, and the exquisite artistry of this classical theatrical tradition. This initiative fosters a concrete understanding and appreciation of the value of Thai literature and performing arts. As an exercise in experiential learning, it broadens students' horizons and deepens their knowledge. Furthermore, it reflects the commitment of the Thai Language Program, Faculty of Education, Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University, to preserving arts and culture and ensuring the enduring legacy of the nation’s literary heritage.
