Academic Service Project on Developing Competencies in Using AI, AR, and Educational Technology for Innovation Creation among Pre-service Teachers

The Faculty of Education, Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University organized an academic service project entitled “Developing Competencies in Using Artificial Intelligence (AI), Augmented Reality (AR), and Educational Technology for Innovation Creation among Pre-service Teachers.” The project was implemented under the main initiative “The Development of Four Key Attributes to Enhance Literacy through Competency-Based Learning toward Area-Based Model Schools.”

The activities were conducted during 28 February – 1 March and 7–9 March 2026 at the Royal River Hotel in Bangkok, Thailand. The opening ceremony was presided over by Assistant Professor Dr. Kannikar Piromrat, Dean of the Faculty of Education, Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University. The project was also honored by a team of expert speakers from the Office of Educational Technology, Sukhothai Thammathirat Open University, who shared their knowledge and experience in educational technology with the participants.

The project aims to enhance pre-service teachers’ competencies in designing and developing innovative learning approaches based on competency-based education. It also focuses on integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI), Augmented Reality (AR), and educational technologies into learning design to improve the effectiveness of future teaching and learning practices.

Through hands-on workshops, collaborative learning activities, and knowledge exchange with experts, participants gained practical experience in applying emerging technologies to design learning innovations that support creativity, analytical thinking, and problem-solving for 21st-century learners.

This project also contributes to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Sustainable Development Goal 4 (SDG 4: Quality Education), which promotes inclusive and equitable quality education and lifelong learning opportunities. By strengthening future teachers’ competencies in digital technologies and educational innovation, the project helps improve teaching quality and supports sustainable educational development.
