The Social Studies Department, Faculty of Education, organized the "Social Studies Teachers' In-to-Real-World Learning Experience" project to inspire teachers in Kanchanaburi Province.

On February 21-22, 2026, the Social Studies Department, Faculty of Education, Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University, organized the Social Studies Teachers in-to-the-Areas Project: Real Learning, Inspiration in Kanchanaburi Province. The objectives were (1) to enable social studies students to learn from real experiences through fieldwork at historical and social learning sites; (2) to develop analytical thinking, observation, reflection, and integration skills in social studies knowledge with the real-world context and community; and (3) to inspire and cultivate the characteristics of social studies teachers, including public spirit, the spirit of teaching, and awareness of their roles and responsibilities to society and the nation.

The activities included learning about educational management concepts and the role of teachers; organizing learning activity stations at the Children's Village School; fieldwork at historical learning sites at the Hellfire Pass Interpretive Center to learn about the lives of prisoners of war and the value of peace; studying natural resources and ecosystems along the Death Railway trail at Sai Yok National Park; and learning about the history of World War II and humanitarian values at the Don Rak Allied War Cemetery. This was linked to the Sustainable Development Goals in a concrete way, aligning with SDG 4: Quality Education and promoting experiential learning. (Experiential Learning) and developing the professional competencies of teachers in accordance with SDG 16: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions, conveying lessons on war history and humanitarian values to cultivate civic awareness.

We would like to thank the speakers, Mr. Methawat Khlaiklueng, Deputy Director, Expert Level, Ban Huai Kob School, Kanchanaburi Primary Educational Service Area 3; Mr. Sarawut Tharaphon, Teacher, Kanchanaburi Kindergarten School; and Ms. Kanyarat Sansoensuk, Teacher, Wat Khao Noi School, for sharing their knowledge and experience with the students.

The project was conducted under the responsibility of Dr. Lalana Wongprasert, with Mr. Veerapoj Rattanawar, lecturer in the Social Studies Department, overseeing and providing guidance to the students throughout the field activities.
