From October 2-4, 2024, Assistant Professor Dr. Sasiporn Phongploenpis led a team of English major students from the Faculty of Education at Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University, under the group name "Apple Academy," to organize an English camp titled "Sustainable Living" for students in grades 7-9 of the international program at Potisarnpittayakorn School. The camp was held at Mida De Sea Hotel, Hua Hin District, Prachuap Khiri Khan Province.
This English camp focused on presenting concepts and practices for sustainable living, aligning with the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals. The activities were designed around different rooms in a house, including:
1. Living Room – where students role-played and embarked on adventures in a fairy tale world to protect green spaces.
2. Dressing Room – where students creatively transformed old clothes using recycled materials.
3. Kitchen – where students learned proper waste disposal methods.
4. Garden – where students learned about carbon credits and tree planting for environmental benefits.
This marks the third time in 2024 that the "Apple Academy" team from the English major, Faculty of Education at Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University, has contributed to sustainable development by organizing English camps for schools.
