Academic Service Project to Enhance Reading, Writing, and Analytical Thinking Skills of Primary School Students in Udon Thani Province (Phase 2)
The Faculty of Education, Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University, organized an academic service project entitled “Enhancing Reading, Writing, and Analytical Thinking Skills of Primary School Students in Udon Thani Province (Phase 2)”. The project aims to strengthen reading competency and analytical thinking skills among students in small-sized schools under the Office of the Basic Education Commission (OBEC) in Udon Thani Province, with the goal of improving the quality of learning and developing essential skills required for education in the 21st century.
The activities focused on promoting learning processes that help students develop reading comprehension, identify key ideas, and apply analytical thinking systematically. In addition, students were encouraged to practice writing skills to communicate ideas logically and effectively. Various hands-on learning activities and skill-enhancement exercises were conducted, providing opportunities for collaboration and knowledge exchange among faculty members, teachers, and students to improve teaching and learning approaches suitable for small schools in the local context.
The project was conducted from 3–7 March 2026 at Ban Lao Udomsap Sombun School, Ban Sai Mun Sai Thong School, and Ban Tum School in Udon Thani Province, Thailand. Faculty members and staff from the Faculty of Education, Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University worked together with teachers and students in these schools to enhance students’ learning potential and strengthen the educational quality of small schools in the region.
This project also contributes to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Sustainable Development Goal 4 (SDG 4: Quality Education), which aims to ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all. Strengthening reading and analytical thinking skills among primary school students forms a fundamental basis for improving learning outcomes and supporting sustainable human development.
